Government Fraud

Every year, dishonest corporations and individuals cheat the federal and state government out of billions of taxpayer?s dollars. The fraud takes various forms. Some of the largest government fraud deals with healthcare fraud. Medicare and Medicaid fraud occurs when healthcare companies overbill the government for costs such as lab tests or services never performed. It would also include companies that bill Medicare for medical devices which may not be ordered by the doctor or may not even be rendered to the patient. Whistleblowers who report this can collect a percentage of what the government recovers. Government fraud also includes tax evasion and the IRS has a new law which allows a reporter to collect upto 30% of what it recovers from tax evaders.
