TAX EVASION WHISTLEBLOWERS
A new law. In light of the massive amount of tax evasion in The United States, estimated at over 15% or more than $350 billion, Congress and the IRS have now created a new law that will increase rewards to citizens who report tax evasion. This law requires that the IRS pay rewards of 15%-30 of whatever is recovered?NO MATTER HOW LARGE THE AMOUNT, based on the information it received from the citizen reporter. You do not need to prove fraud or intentional cheating on taxes to get the reward.
To qualify, the whistleblowers must provide information about tax fraud or tax underpayment that exceeds $2 million (counting tax, penalties and interest. The annual income of the tax cheater must exceed $200,000
Special tax fraud whistleblower protections; The IRS will keep the whistleblower?s identity confidential. However it is critical that experienced legal counsel be used as the law has technicalities.
Must be Federal Taxes Unpaid; The whistleblower must allege and it must be proven that a taxpayer (corporate or individual) underpaid federal taxes.
